The project brings key sectors together to create a positive pathway for international students at Georgian College. We will consult on their needs and build supports they need for positive & welcoming connection with community and employers.
The goal is to contribute to the success of international students during their studies and as potential citizens and skilled workers in the region. It has the potential to retain skilled workers to fill vacant positions in long term care, manufacturing, energy, marine and food services businesses that are struggling because of current labour shortages.
The project aims to improve the diversity of our workforce — adding to our
labour pool skilled graduates, and young people who will continue to live and contribute to this rural community.
